Some love stories come full circle, and that couldn’t be truer for Anastassiya and Tyler. They first crossed paths at a luau-themed frat party while attending San Jose State University, but it wasn’t until a re-introduction at another party — thanks to a mutual friend, Joseph — that they truly connected. What started as college party encounters led to formals, music festivals, and a meaningful relationship that grew stronger over the years. When Tyler proposed at Lake Haiyaha in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, with Joseph there once again to photograph the moment, it was a beautiful nod to the friend who unknowingly helped spark their story from the very beginning.
On their wedding morning, Anastassiya spent time getting ready with her bridesmaids and her mom by her side. The room was filled with laughter, anticipation, and all the energy that comes with a day this special. Every detail was thoughtfully prepared — from her elegant gown to the personal touches that reflected her creative eye. As the finishing touches were made, the excitement in the room was contagious, with everyone ready to celebrate the day they had all been waiting for.
Meanwhile, Tyler was getting ready with his groomsmen and the other important men in his life. The camaraderie between the guys was lighthearted and full of fun, but any nerves Tyler had were softened when he received a heartfelt letter and a special gift from his bride-to-be. It was an unforgettable moment for him — a reminder of the woman he was about to marry and the life they were stepping into together. These kinds of gestures always have a way of settling the heart on such an emotionally charged day.
One of the most memorable parts of the day was the series of first looks that made the morning so special. Anastassiya shared a sweet and emotional first look with her dad — a quiet, meaningful moment filled with pride and love. Before seeing his bride, Tyler’s friends lightened the mood with a playful “decoy” first look, where one of the groomsmen donned a dress to bring some laughter to the nerves of the day. When the real first look finally arrived, all the laughter gave way to heartfelt emotion as Anastassiya and Tyler saw each other for the first time. It was everything they had hoped for — joyful, tearful, and deeply moving.
Their wedding party was an amazing group of friends and family gathered from all different stages of their lives. The guys looked sharp in classic tuxes, each adding a playful touch with themed socks. The bridesmaids were stunning in sage green dresses, each with a unique style that perfectly complemented the others while allowing their individual beauty to shine. Together, they made an unforgettable crew that cheered on the couple every step of the way.
The ceremony itself was heartfelt and deeply personal, as the couple exchanged custom vows that spoke to their journey and promises for the future. A particularly touching moment came when Anastassiya surprised Tyler with a letter addressed to his late grandfather — a man who had a profound influence on his life. It was a moment that brought tears to many eyes, as the gesture honored family, legacy, and love in the most thoughtful way. Under the open California sky, surrounded by those they love, Anastassiya and Tyler promised forever. After sealing this promise with exchanging rings and a kiss, they paraded through a shower of flower petals.
After the ceremony, we snuck away for newlywed portraits, capturing the undeniable glow that radiated from both of them. There’s a certain magic that happens when a couple has just said “I do,” and it was written all over their faces. With beautiful willow trees as the backdrop and a gentle breeze in the air, every photo reflected the joy and love they share. These portraits felt effortless because, at that point, all that mattered was each other.
The reception space was just as stunning, with carefully curated details that made the evening feel intimate and grand all at once. The couple made a grand entrance with cold sparklers lighting their entry, setting the tone for an unforgettable night. Their first dance, choreographed beautifully to the song Ordinary by Alex Warren, was anything but ordinary — it was graceful, emotional, and a testament to the thoughtfulness they put into every part of the day.
Speeches followed, full of love, laughter, and stories that gave glimpses into the couple’s life together. One of the most special parts of the evening was a Russian wedding tradition called Karovai. In this tradition, Anastassiya’s parents presented the couple with a beautifully baked bread loaf as a symbol of prosperity and blessing. The couple each took a piece and ate it together, symbolizing their unity and the welcoming of Tyler into the family — a beautiful nod to Anastassiya's family culture that added richness to the celebration.
As the night continued, they shared in the cake cutting, toasted with champagne, and enjoyed emotional parent dances. One particularly heartfelt gesture was when Anastassiya dedicated her bouquet to her mom — a sweet and intentional moment that didn’t go unnoticed. It was clear how deeply family and meaningful relationships matter to them both.
The dance floor soon opened and was packed with friends and family celebrating alongside the newlyweds. Before the night officially ended, Anastassiya and Tyler shared a private last dance — just the two of them — soaking in the final moments of their wedding day. Their grand exit was lined with friends cheering them on, and we gathered everyone for a group photo that perfectly captured the joy and energy of the day. It was the perfect ending to a truly perfect California wedding.
Anastassiya and Tyler’s wedding day was the perfect reflection of their love story — thoughtful, joyful, and full of heart. Every moment felt intentional and beautifully personal, surrounded by the people who have cheered them on from the very beginning. We’re so honored to have captured this incredible day and can’t wait to see all that’s ahead for them in this next chapter together. Wishing them a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventures just as unforgettable as their wedding day.
