Kat is Elisebeth’s younger sister! We were hoping to snag photos of her and James in the summer months near our parents’ home but due to busy schedules, it didn’t happen. Fast forward a few months to James proposing to Kat at Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon at the chapel on campus! Fast forward another month: Thanksgiving at Grandma and Grandpa’s home! What better time to capture engagement portraits?
Midwest winters are long, cold, and snowy. Being able to photograph happy couples, like this, sure make them go by much faster and help us better appreciate these winter months!
We found this magical, beautiful little pop-up tree farm next to a Kwik Trip in Rice Lake. So after making a few sugary purchases inside, we went over to this beautiful winter wonderland!
We trudged around in the snow and even found a touch of autumn left! It was a pretty rare sight to find here in the already very snowy parts of northern Wisconsin.
Brick walls and donuts, need we say more? Kat & James both love donuts, so snacking on some Kwik Trip Glazers seemed like the perfect way to add a little extra fun into their session!
Downtown Rice Lake has some absolutely adorable little shops along Main Street, so we’re pretty sure a visit during the summer months will be added to our agenda. We were so thrilled to find some cutesy brick walls to use for this engagement session!
The final destination for this session was none other than the woods across from Grandma & Grandpa’s house. We’ve heard countless stories of their wildlife spotting from the woods and decided to venture in a bit. We followed the easily visible deer footprints along a little trail.
James was quick to throw Kat onto a log covered with plenty of snow… We think her reaction was quite fitting!
Congratulations to Kat & James!
