As many of our 2021 weddings, Ariel & Patrick’s wedding was effected by Covid-19. However, their story took a different route than many. Most of our 2020 weddings postponed to 2021 or pushed off without a date in mind. Ariel & Patrick had picked a summer 2021 date, but felt uncertainty as events were cancelled through so much of 2020. So, they made a plan. Rather than push back their date, they decided to make sure they could get married - even if it looked different than their original plans. The idea led them to Sarasota, Florida, where Patrick’s family visited most winters. Rather than having to postpone their date, they picked a location with looser guidelines and moved their wedding date sooner! When we received the call from Ariel about the change of plans, we were giddy to hear about the location change. We had never been to Florida before and were getting the itch to travel, so what better time than for their wedding.

Ariel & Patrick got ready in separate homes, each surrounded by a friend and sibling. This set the tone for a relaxing and calm day - which continued through the entire day. They took their time in each step of the getting ready process and were able to create memories with the people closest to them.

With an intimate ceremony planned, Ariel & Patrick chose not to do a first look, allowing excitement to build not only for themselves, but for the family members present. The beautiful ceremony had about 17 people in attendance and was cherished by all.

While intimate ceremonies and only inviting 20 people to your wedding isn’t for everyone, it definitely has its perks. Ariel & Patrick were able to sneak away for photos of themselves as newlyweds while family and wedding party mingled. It also gave the opportunity to have all guests in one large group photo - what a cool way to remember who was at your wedding!

Following family photos, we headed to Bird Key Park. While not as busy as your typical Spring Break Florida beach, it still gave incredible views of the water. It sits on the waterfront of Sarasota Bay and has beautiful, luscious palm trees. We enjoyed time with their wedding party and some time capturing the newlyweds alone, too!

Before guests arrived at their reception venue, the newlyweds took time to toast to their marriage and have a moment to themselves. Ariel & Patrick spent time chatting with each guest as they sat down for dinner under the covered patio, surrounded with wine bottles and greenery.

Ariel & Patrick, we wish you the absolute best in your marriage and are so glad you pushed to get married, regardless of the craziness in the world around you. Keep those calm and relaxed vibes flowing throughout your marriage and you will find nothing but happiness!
