Every good love story begins by meeting through mutual friends and extra tickets to a Frank Turner concert, right?! Okay, maybe not every love story, but that is how Bella & Matt's began. After a year of coffee, furniture building, and photography journeys together, they finally began "officially dating". What an incredible foundation for a relationship! And that leads us here... On a cloudy, overcast Tuesday, we drove up to Two Harbors from Minneapolis. From the moment we stepped into Bella & Matt's cabin at Larsmont Cottages, we felt the warmth and energy from their family's as they prepared for their ceremony overlooking Lake Superior. We can't imagine a place that could be more perfect for these two!
From DIY bouquets to film cameras, their wedding was centered around their passion for beautiful things. Family & friends joined together to create a beautiful day!
Bella & Matt's first look along the shore of Lake Superior in Two Harbors was dreamy and their reactions to seeing each other: priceless.
The excitement at their future ahead could be seen on their faces! Also - peak that cute little moment between her & her dad at the bottom of this stack of photos!
Intimate wedding ceremonies are some of our favorites. Bella & Matt's ceremony was performed by a friend as they stood in front of their dearest friends and family members. They had a "Ring Bear" to deliver their wedding rings - how freaking cute is that?! The ceremony also included a blanket ceremony done by Bella's father.
What a wonderful way to include her heritage and her family life as a part of the San Luis Rey Band of Payómkawichum tribe within the ceremony!
Immediately following the ceremony we snagged some fun portraits of them with their closest and dearest friends who had been invited to celebrate!
With an early meal and reception, we watched (with tear-filled eyes - at least for Elisebeth) as their friends and family shared about them as individuals and as a couple. Their love filled the room as they began their married life with the most important people in the world to them.
One of the many beauties of intimate weddings is your wedding day timeline is a lot more flexible! You can focus on what is truly important to you. Bella & Matt are both wonderfully creative people - so it was a priority for them to have a lot of time to have portraits of just the two of them done!
Duluth holds a special place in their hearts, so we ventured down from Two Harbors to many beautiful spots in Duluth. Duluth was where they enjoyed a lot of their time early in their relationship, as well as where Matt proposed!
