Meet Ally and Tyler! They have been together for over 4 years. They grew up living near each other, but somehow never met each other in high school. They met while Ally was waitressing in college. As they’re both shy, it took a while to make much conversation early on, but luckily he left his phone number for her on his receipt. They started talking and it didn’t take long for them to make it official.
Over 4 years later, they have a kitty, a house, and a whole lot of memories—and things are just getting started!
October weddings are some of our favorites! The weather is always very unpredictable which adds an element of surprise built into the wedding day. Ally and Tyler’s wedding day began with plenty of sunshine and wind. Ally and Tyler got ready in the bride and groom’s suites at Legacy Hill Farm surrounded by friends and family.
The groom’s suite is an adorable little cottage on the farm. The exterior served as the perfect location for their first look! Legacy Hill Farm gives every couple that gets married there a lock to put on their fence alongside of the cottage.
We then explored the woods nearby to let Ally and Tyler soak in a few private moments before the rush of their wedding day set in. Both Ally and Tyler are a bit shy, so time alone on there wedding day was important to let them really enjoy their day.
Their wedding party joined the portraits after we took a brief break to warm up from the wind! The love and support from Ally and Tyler’s wedding party was so heartwarming!
Their wedding ceremony was officiated by Ally’s brother. The wind was in full force, but the moment was oh so sweet.
Following their ceremony, we snuck the newlyweds away for a little more alone time! We love to capture the joyous, just married feelings with our couples! October always has such an early sunset, so their post-ceremony portraits had a very sun-kissed, golden hour feel to them even though they were captured quite early in the day.
Legacy Hill Farm has such a beautiful pavilion to decorate and host receptions in! We loved all of the simple and chic details that Ally and Tyler used in the space. They also had doughnuts from Bloedow’s Bakery instead of cake! We’re loving this trend!
Dinner on the farm was a beautiful experience, filled with kind words shared by family and friends.
We’ve mentioned our love for golden hour/sunset photos. Well, this particular October Friday, the sun hit a line of clouds before any dramatic colors appeared. So, we ended up with something different than our “normal” golden hour portraits. Their portraits are much moodier and dramatic than we often find at this time of day!
In our initial meeting with Ally and Tyler, they mentioned they had a desire to NOT do their first dance in front of everyone. They weren’t sure if they would do one at all! The day of came, and they agreed it felt right to do one, but in private. We went to the small balcony on the granary and played a song. They danced together under the light of the moon. What a truly romantic and intimate moment for them to share amid the hustle of their wedding day.
Once we came back to the pavilion, the dance floor opened quickly after father/daughter and mother/son dances finished up!
After hours of dancing and merriment, the newlyweds were sent off with a sparkler exit! There is no greater joy than to see the spark of a new marriage begin.
