On a cold, drizzly Saturday morning, we pulled up to Minnesota Harvest Orchard in Jordan, Minnesota. Katie & Tyler’s wedding began on a very busy morning at the orchard, amid peak apple-picking season. The sounds, sights, and smells of families enjoying their morning at the orchard filled the air and set an exciting tone for our day.
Katie & Tyler planned a detail-oriented day that was filled with every ounce of who they are as a couple. They worked hard on all of the decor and put together a simply stunning day. One of those details that came to life in a beautiful way was Katie wearing her mother’s wedding dress. What a special way to honor your mother and your family in wearing her dress!
Minnesota Harvest Orchard is highlighted by a big, beautiful red barn which also doubles as a gorgeous reception space. On the outside, you see the rustic walls that must tell a thousand stories of vows being said and celebrated. Just by those walls, Katie & Tyler had their first look, with their son, Wesley, at their feet.
Following their intimate first look, we strolled through the muddy orchard as we took some portraits! The apples were in peak color and were hard to resist taking a bite of!
With a cold and dreary Saturday among us, we quickly made our way through wedding party and family portraits. Taking little breaks inside near a heater made the day much more comfortable for us all. You can hardly tell from these photos that everyone was cold!
Following the portrait time, we hopped on a hay ride to head to the ceremony site! Minnesota Harvest Orchard has a beautiful wooded area to host ceremonies. Katie & Tyler chose the perfect wedding date for embracing the early autumn colors! The yellow and light green glow of the trees added a beautiful warm feel to the ceremony time!
We loved all the little ways they included Wesley into their ceremony. He carried an adorable “Daddy, here comes our girl” sign as he walked down the aisle just before his mom! They also created a painting during their ceremony. Katie, Tyler, & Wesley each had a color of paint to drip onto a canvas! What a wonderful way to create art on your wedding day and be able to display that in your home.
As the reception began in the big red barn, the whole building filled with cheers of celebration when the newlyweds entered through the doors!
Katie & Tyler’s dance was one wonderful party! The lights, the music, the whole reception was a time filled with fun and laughter between close friends and family!
At the end of their wedding evening, we snuck Katie & Tyler away for a few extra portraits and to end the whole event with a grand sparkler exit! Sparkler exits have been a big trend in 2018 weddings and we’ve enjoyed everyone that we have gotten to do! We loved getting to capture both photography and videography for their sparkler exit!
